Life-Long Antimicrobial Filters
The blended filter media not only can trap small particles and microorganisms, but it also inactivates them to prevent further growth and reproduction. The antimicrobial agent applied is not consumed while fighting microorganisms.
Proven Antiviral & Antibacterial Properties
AstroCel® II S+ filter media was tested under ISO 21702:2019 Antiviral Activity Test Standard and Method, the test result shows that it has more than 95% efficiency rate. It was also tested according to JIS Z 2801:2010 Antibacterial Test Standard and Method, the test result shows that it has more than 99.9% efficiency rate in inactivating bacteria.
The filter media has been tested against Influenza A H1N1 virus and Escherichia coli bacteria, test reports are available upon request.
Microbes Inactivation
Antibacterial Mechanism
- Prevents formation of cell protein and cell walls.
- Disrupts Energy metabolism and development of microorganisms.
- Fusion with the cell membrane and enters the cell through the structures of organelles, protein, nucleic acids, etc. The active ingredients destroy cell contents, enzymes, proteins, nucleic acids to inhibit bacteria and mold reproduction.
Airborne Contamination Control
When microorganisms come into contact with the filter media, the antimicrobial agent penetrates the outer layer of the microorganism to cause the disruption and destruction of the vital functions which leads to the inability to grow or reproduce
